Survivorship of Medial OW HTO: Factors affecting conversion to TKA

Description

Objectives

  • To determine MOWHTO survival rate defined as conversion to arthroplasty, obtained from the Australian Orthopaedic Association National Joint Replacement Registry (AOANJRR)
  • To evaluate retrospectively demographic factors, surgical findings, post operative complications and pre-postoperative radiological data as risk factors for conversion.

Conclusions

  • Our data support that MOWHTO is a reliable procedure with good clinical outcomes
  • MOWHTO survivorship can be affected by patient selection and surgical factors.
  • Improved survival could be achieved in younger patients with less chondral wear and

avoiding overcorrecting HKA and excessively valgus MPTA
