A NOVEL MODIFIED IPACK BLOCK THAT ALLOWS EASY APPROACH

Description

Postoperative analgesia is important in promoting early mobilization from knee surgery, including total knee arthroplasty (TKA), and improving patient satisfaction. We have devised a new technique for postoperative analgesia of the posterior knee, called modified iPACK (infiltration of the interspace between the popliteal artery and capsule of the knee), which can be easily approached during TKA surgery through the intercondylar notch. This cadaveric study aimed to compare the area of dye spread and frequency of articular branch staining following modified iPACK versus ultrasound-guided technique.
