Comparison of a SANE Method and the BPII 2.0

Description

The concept of single assessment numeric evaluation (SANE) has been introduced for a number of clinical entities; however, a validated SANE specifically focusing on patients with patellofemoral instability has not been described. The present study closes this gap by introducing the first SANE question specifically for patients with patellofemoral instability.

The SANE question “How do you rate your knee joint if a completely stable knee cap means 100%?" demonstrated concurrent validity with the BPII 2.0 and may serve as a helpful tool to quickly assess patients with recurrent patellofemora linstability in a preoperative setting.
