Minimally-invasive, isometric MCL augmentation with a peroneus graft

Description

This ePoster describes a novel, minimally-invasive, isometric technique for for MCL augmentation using a peroneus longus tendon autograft in combination with an ACL reconstruction for patients with an anteromedial knee instability. Besides the description of the surgical technique, first clinical data from an initial case series of 31 patients with primary or revision ALC reconstruction enrolled in out clinic internal knee ligament register are presented. The data of the 1-year follow-up demonstrate that the minimally invasive, isometric MCL augmentation technique using a peroneus tendon graft represents a safe and complication-sparse technique with good clinical outcomes, low failure rate and no significant restriction in foot function at 1-year follow-up.
