DOES LOCAL ANESTHESIA QUALIFY AS THE GOLD STANDARD IN KNEE ARTHROSCOPY

Description

•Arthroscopic knee procedures under local anesthesia (LA) remain underutilized, partly due to concerns regarding anesthesia adequacy and patient satisfaction.

•Our study seeks to demonstrate the feasibility and efficacy of utilizing LA in various knee arthroscopic techniques, including meniscal repair, synovectomy, debridement, and chondroplasty. By showcasing the reliability of LA in these procedures, we aim to redefine its role, potentially improving patient outcomes and surgical practice.
