Blood Flow Restriction and Knee Position Sense in Athletes

Description

This e-poster presents a study on the impact of applying controlled blood flow restriction (BFR) in the thigh on knee joint position sense (JPS) in healthy recreational athletes. The study employs a double-blinded, placebo-controlled design and measures absolute angular error (AAE) during knee position reproduction tests. Results show that BFR leads to increased AAE, indicating impaired knee JPS compared to the placebo group. These findings suggest caution is needed when implementing BFR training in healthy athletes.
