AUGMENTED REALITY-BASED SURGICAL GUIDANCE PROVIDES NON-INFERIOR RESULT

Description

Despite the advances in technology, approximately 20% of patients report dissatisfaction after total knee arthroplasty (TKA). Sub-optimal balancing of the knee is a frequent cause of complication. New systems aim to help improve precision and balance, including an augmented reality (AR)-based surgical guidance system which intra-operatively assesses soft tissue balance and measures the effect of prosthesis alignment and positioning.
Aim: evaluate the short-term clinical outcomes of this AR system and compare it with a well-established PSI system.
